Other works of this renowned carver can be found in the Church of St. Michael, Cornhill and the Church of St. Mary-at-Hill, Billingsgate. A book containing pictures of the carvings at St. Michael's (please see below four of the pew ends carved) was published in 2009 and can be purchased from the author.
In 1853, he exhibited largely at the Dublin Exhibition and received a gold medal. In 1856, he carved a set of drops and trophies for the Sultan's palace in Constantinople. In 1857, he carved the beautiful pulpit for St. Anne's Church, Limehouse. His last piece of carved work, executed in 1868, was the boss of interlacing scrollwork for the library of Trinity College, Cambridge.
Extensive research has been done on this distinguished woodcarver and his descendants and a book was written in 1998 entitled "The Woodcarver's Children", documenting the family history of each descendant, and distributed to family members only. Known direct descendants now number over 330 and they are scattered around the world with branches in the United Kingdom, Canada, the United States, Australia and South Africa.
